US Media is …

US Media was founded by James Wells.

Prior to founding US Media, Mr. Wells was the Managing Director of MultiThématiques GmbH, a creator and distributor of thematic channels for the European market and a subsidiary of Vivendi-Universal. Previously Mr. Wells was the Chief Executive Officer of Canal+ AB in Stockholm.

Mr. Wells began his media career in Los Angeles with Viewer’s Choice Pay-per-view in 1989. In 1993 he was the Head of Theatrical Film Distributon at Trimark Pictures.

Mr. Wells changed his base of operations to Europe in 1995 where he worked on channel launches in Germany, England and Poland for the parent company of the RTL Group. In 1998 Mr. Wells was made Head of Content, New Business Development and Strategic Marketing for the Deutsche Telekom subsidiary Media Services.

Mr. Wells holds an MBA in Entertainment Management from the Top-10 ranked Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA and Bachelor of Arts Degrees in English and Engineering from Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Mr. Wells was awarded the “Top 10 European Executive Award” from Cable & Satellite Europe magazine, in May 2003.

Additionally Mr. Wells was an elected member of the Board of Directors for TV of VPRT (the political lobbying group of the privately owned German TV Channels) from May 2001 – May 2003.

From May 2000 – May 2002, Mr. Wells was the Head of the European Cable Communications Association’s Business Development Committee (ECCA is now known as Cable Europe).
